Qualified as solicitor in 1969. Practised with Matheson Ormsby & Prentice Solicitors before joining Eugene F Collins Solicitors in 1972. Became Partner in Eugene F Collins in 1975 and remained Partner until end 2012. Was Consultant with Eugene F Collins from end 2012 until retirement from firm (which has since become Addleshaw Goddard (Ireland) LLP) at end March 2016.
In April 2016 set up own practice as arbitrator and expert witness.
Since June 2016 has been Consultant to Holmes O’Malley Sexton Solicitors.

Arbitration
Has acted as arbitrator in more than 170 domestic arbitrations and in 4 international arbitrations under appointment by the ICC. Was the member for Ireland of the ICC International Court of Arbitration from 2000 to 2012. Former Chairman of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – Irish Branch. Past President of Arbitration Ireland. Former Chairman and current member of the ADR Committee of the Law Society.
Expert Witness
Has been engaged by solicitors (representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants) as an expert witness in over 200 cases involving property related disputes including cases against solicitors alleging professional negligence or misconduct.
